Star Trek Classic Lines
Star Trek Classic Lines
1. Mankind was born on Earth. It was never meant to die here.
COOPER: Humans were born on Earth, but should never perish here.
2. Cooper: We used to look up at the sky and wonder at our place in the stars, now we just look down and worry about our place in the dirt.
COOPER: We used to look up at the stars and think about our place in the universe, and now we just keep our heads down and worry about how we're going to survive in this land.
3. Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day. Rage, Rage against the dying light.
Do not go gentle into that good night. The day will end, and the twilight shall still burn and roar. Rage against it, rage against the dying of the light.
4. Cooper: We'll find a way; we always have.
COOPER: We'll find a way, we always do.
5. Brand: Love is the one thing that transcends time and space.
BRAND: Only love can travel through time and space.
6. Cooper: We've always defined ourselves by the ability to overcome the impossible. These moments when we dare to aim higher, to break barriers, to reach for the stars, to make the unknown known. Or perhaps we've just forgotten that we are still pioneers, and we've barely begun. And that our greatest accomplishments cannot be behind us, because our destiny lies above us.
Cooper: We have always believed in our ability to accomplish the impossible. We cherished these moments, these moments when we dared to excel, to break through barriers, to explore the stars, to unravel the unknown, and we saw these moments as our proudest achievements. But we've lost it all. Or maybe we've just forgotten that we're still pioneers and we're just getting started. Those great achievements can't just belong to the past, because our destiny lies in space.
7. [after the explosion]
Cooper: What's your trust setting TARS?
TARS: Lower than yours apparently.
(after the explosion)
COOPER: Tas, what's your trust value?
TAS: Obviously lower than you guys.
8. Cooper: [When Cooper tries to reconfigure TARS] Humour 75%.
TARS: 75%. self destruct sequence in T minus 10 9 8...
Cooper: Let's make it 65%.
COOPER: (trying to reconfigure TARS) Humor value, 75%.
TAS: 75%. self-destruct program initiated, 10, 9, 8 ......
COOPER: Let's just set it to 65%.
9. Dr. Brand: Not sure of what I'm more afraid of, they never coming back, or coming back to find we've failed.
Murph: Then let's succeed.
Dr. Brand: I don't know which I'm more afraid of, that they won't come back, or that they'll come back only to find that we've failed.
Murphy: So let's make it work.
10. Murph: Today is my birthday. And it's a special one because you once told me that when you came back, we might be the same age. 'm the same age that you were when you left... and it'd be really great if you came back soon.
Murphy: Today is my birthday. This birthday is special because when you left back then you said that we would both probably be the same age when you came back. Now I'm the same age you were when you left ...... It would be great if you could come back sooner.
11. Brand: Couldn't you've told her you were going to save the world?
When you become a parent, one thing becomes really clear. And that's that you want to make sure your children feel safe.
BRAND: Didn't you tell your daughter you were there to save the world?
COOPER: No. When you're a parent now, one of the things that becomes very clear to you is that you've got to make sure that your kids feel safe.
12. We are the memories of our children's future. With children, you are the ghost of your children's future.
13. When I am highly dormant in outer space, or traveling at near the speed of light, or approaching a black hole, time will change, it will be much slower than usual, our times will be different, and I may be the same age as my daughter when I return.
14. They are five-dimensional life forms for whom time may be another spatial entity, the past may be a valley to climb into, and the future, a mountain to climb.
15. When you become a parent, the most important thing, that is to make sure that your child feels safe, so you can't tell a ten year old that the world is coming to an end.
16. How long have we been gone? Twenty-three years, four months and eight days.
17, You said that when we met again we might be the same age, and today I'm the age you were when you left, so now is the time you should come back.
18. It's time that I'm afraid of.
19. Love is not something invented by man, it has always existed and is powerful and meaningful. Maybe it means more, more that we can't yet understand, maybe it's some kind of evidence that comes from a higher dimensional civilization and that we can't currently perceive. I wind up traveling across the universe in search of a man who has disappeared for ten years, and for all I know, he could be dead ...... Love is a force that allows us to perceive it beyond the dimensions of time and space. Even though we can't really understand it yet, and the chances of being able to meet Edmunds are even slimmer I don't give up, it doesn't mean I'm wrong.
20. Love is a force that allows us to perceive its presence beyond the dimensions of space and time. (Other translations: Love is the only vector that can traverse all dimensions.)
21, we're here to communicate with the three-dimensional world, like a bridge, to save this world, and they have infinite time and space, and there's no boundaries, and they can't find a specific place in time, and they can't communicate, so I'm going to be here, and I'm going to find a way to tell Murphy, as if I'm discovering this moment.
22. How to communicate?
23. Love, Tas, is love. Like Brand said, the exchange between me and Murphy is quantifiable, and that's the point. So what now? Find a way to communicate, that meter.
24. "Maybe we've spent too long trying to figure all this out with theory. Love is the one thing that transcends time and space." - Amelia Brandt, "I don't know what to say. "Amelia Brand
"Maybe we spend too much time trying to unravel these theories. Love is the only thing that can transcend time and space." --Emilia Brandon
25. "Murphy's law doesn't mean that something bad will happen. It means that whatever can happen, will happen. "Cooper
"Murphy's Law doesn't mean that things that go bad are bound to happen...it means that those things that can happen, will happen." --Cooper
26. We need to travel to places that are extremely far from the world in which we live, and we are not allowed to think about this as an individual...
27, no matter what the shortcomings of the current era, he is indeed every day new things and concepts appear, every day like Christmas, people are very greedy, but also very brave, in the face of the vastness of the universe, there is no heart of love and bravery, we are really too small.
28. We have to face a reality, the reality of traveling across the stars.
29. We can't save the planet, we should leave it.
30. More age, and more wisdom, and the joy of reunion.
31. When you become a father, you must have a responsibility in mind to ensure the safety of your children no matter what.
32. We have to go beyond our own territory.
